Summit's 35" thru 52" precision engine lathes combine the greatest combination of features available for a lathe in this size range, setting a new standard for machines in this class.
A few of the outstanding features of the 35" thru 52" Big Swing lathes are a cross ribbed headstock for added strength and stability, dynamically balanced anti-friction mounted shafts, hardened and ground alloy steel gears, and a forged, chrome alloy spindle with a big 6" thru hole, mounted in three precision bearings. Available in stepped speed and variable speed models.
Available in center distances from 60" to 240", these precision engine lathes have 35" to 52" swing over the bed, 19.3" to 37" swing over the cross slide, induction hardened and ground bedways on a fully ribbed closed grain cast bed, 27.5" wide for added rigidity.
